Solo Show at the blackShed gallery

New Work in solo show at blackShed gallery

This last few months I have been painting a new body of work for a solo show in December. I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be exhibiting at the blackShed gallery, a contemporary art space in the heart of East Sussex near Hastings. Looking out over the hop fields of Robertsbridge, the gallery sits amongst converted farm buildings up a tiny country lane just off the A21.

The new paintings focus on the figure in landscape. In them, I continue to explore our physical and spiritual relationship with nature. In my work this relationship continues to be elusive, ambiguous but I want to hint at reciprocity. Nature needs us as much as we need need it. I want to suggest that we are not ‘apart’ from our environment but fundamentally ‘a part’ of it.

The show runs from 3rd December 2022 to 15th February 2023. Do make the trip to this delightful corner of the world.
